And this is delta after all. They will say an airplane is being phased out and it will still fly for 10+ years until the market dictates its retirement lol

They were going to upgrade the MD-88’s and 90’s at one point. Had a flight trainer and everything. Not a single plane was updated.

We were watching Burns' ops take today and 2 notes:
Next AE memo Wednesday July 12th
Also claiming they will be seeing less needs for bypass so BWYWWWYB

I would suspect these oldest airframes (~40, mostly one’s with the super old crap seats) will be retired unless ticket traffic picks up so much they need them for a time.
The whole process will take at least 2 years to complete, even with a heavy effort. There is plenty of time to decide to keep/retire significant numbers.
As we have seen from the prior cabin refresh projects on the 777 and others, spending money doesn’t necessarily protect hulls.

I would expect around 400+/- vacancies. I would also expect the incremental/slow metering of WB B vancancies (vice a large “dump” in one AE). As they more “surgically” plan the training for each month’s conversions/training.

My question is, could this be an indication for future indoc classes to know what their drop could be? For arguments sake if MSP320B had unbid openings last month but they didn't post any this month. Can they still offer those positions in August to newhires or only the most recent unbid openings?
