This! Flying Internationally is like working for a completely different airline!

Zero re-routes, no running from A to E to make the next pushback, it’s a 10+hr buffet on the way to happy hour!

That’s what I thought when I went to the ER (pre-Covid). Got rerouted in Japan on OE! Lost my 48 hour Tokyo layover. Some FO forgot his passport and didn’t realize it until he arrived in NRT. So I had a grueling 48 hours in HNL instead. -Laughing face emoji-

Hey sometimes you can be on the receiving end of a good reroute too for this. Was heading to Cancun a week ago Got into MSP with a reroute to KEF the next day, double deadhead home. Supposedly a passport issue as well.
41 hours of pay for 2 days of a 5 day. Not bad!

Anyone actually doing this is doing it wrong.

If that push is your commute home…

I don’t think he meant literally running. I see y’all in the terminal…most of you ain’t running anywhere.

The 767ER category is a place where all kinds of -bad things- can happen, that all started when Delta brought the domestic 75/76 flying into the once “pure international” 76ER category. Why DALPA allowed that to happen is beyond me but it ruined the ER category due to all the possible 757 domestic rerouting. The 757 guys I commute with are constantly being jacked around and swapping out Capt/FOs nearly every leg doing the FL Shuttle flying.

The “International Flying” I was referring to above is the -pure- international, like on the A350/330. Crew Schedulers don’t mess with them much, although it could happen, it’s not a common thing like it is on the 757.

True, but he was talking about WB pilots not having to do that multiple times (or really ever) during a rotation. Anyone on any fleet who commutes will inevitably have to make a multi-terminal dash from time to time.

Obviously…I knew what he was saying.

What I’m saying is the thought of most pilots “running” is comical to me.

It's not much, but I once got paid an extra 10:30 to land at JFK instead of LGA
