Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

I say all of this because I think reality is about to set in and I will be glad I can hold a captain position and I am where I am. I was thinking it was going to trend more junior and I was going to miss the boat for awhile. Now I think the boat is gone and things have normalized. At least I have a chair. 717 will usually be junior and my number is where it has traditionally been. 320 and 73 junior A’s may be disappointed in the slide to the right.
I was that guy last summer, and upgraded to normalize QOL & /'lock in' the higher pay. As I was awaiting training, the GS train slowed considerably so I knew I made the right choice. But although I'm where I expect to be until able to hold a WB A, I am nonetheless interested to see how this mock bid compares to the final AE. And, were both reveal the junior WB B and NB A to be. It's not just those bidding who should be interested, but also those who care whether they slide backwards in position or not. Will be interesting for sure, but I still submit we will start to see a return to historical seniority levels for major milestones (WB A Wall won't begin to 'fall' until additional growth or ER replacements show up on the ramp, IMO). With such a small bid following the longest AE drought in a decade, it will take a couple bids to see where the trends are headed. Especially if they really do transition to a monthly cycle. As the old adage goes, "the only thing that is constant is change".

“Based on pilot feedback, the Crew Resources team plans to post a sample award to the Crew Resources page on Deltanet later this week using a snapshot of the standing bids at the time of the test.”

I wonder if another motive for them doing this is to give senior guys aiming for a bypass a view into their chances of actually getting one. That could lower the number of people backing out of final awards if they see they probably won’t get a bypass on the mock award.

I am an 8ish year captain. Got my bid on the last MOAB. Free agent. Not going anywhere because of life events that will conflict, though I am happy to stay. I am on the 717, which, minus the pay difference, I love. Hard to watch that $30-40k go unrealized.
