If you bid same category at a different base would they start converting in July or August? July schedules are already posted so not sure that would work.

I think Flex is referring to NH classes, which technically can be offered as soon as the day after the results come out.

Practically however, a month lead time makes sense for both NH and AE awards.

BS’s memo alludes to October and November will be heavy training months, so I would expect much bigger AEs in August and September to facilitate that.

All that doesn’t mean the company will actually do anything that makes sense though.

I was thinking the same thing. I think there will be an AE July/August and it’ll be much bigger for training in October/November! Start to get prepared for 2024

Sure the ER has the best flying but it only has the best flying year round if you’re like top 20% FO and like 15% CA. I’m 30ish percent in the right seat and couldn’t hold a pure international line in the right seat. People the forget the domestic ER trips are as bad as any other NB fleet
The beauty, in my opinion, of the ER is the variety. If the goal is international, then why stay in a fleet that pays substantially less if you can hold a true WB. I’m still perplexed the 767-300 pays what it does.

Bottom 5% in summer are getting 3 day europes off reserve. I’m 85% in category and gotten 3 in the last 40 days. Junior line holders are swapping into them. It’s MOST of our category this summer it seems.

but to your point the best thing about the ER is the variety. I like all the flying in modest quantity. I wouldn’t want to do 100% europe. I like transcons and I even like beating up the pattern in and out of atlanta every once in a while.

The ER is the only plane where you can fly for both Deltas.

Looks like a BOS base is out of the picture for DL at the moment. Any chance we ever see a BOS base for DL or has this idea been squashed completely?

My read is that it will forever be the hub that should be a base but can’t be justified by the efficiency craving crew resources team. The ones that plan the pre month schedule, not the ones that actually deal with the inevitable fall out 6 months of the year. Placing more junior crews in the north east doesn’t really solve the fact you can just create turns or W international trips, those work great. #nopremonthcredit

I mean RDU/MCO/TPA/MIA have been in this category for a long time. Too easy to cover by the large ATL/NYC/DTW crew bases.

Ah, I see that now.

I know folks have been surprised by training when they were counting on the conversion memo.

Agree on the late summer AEs being smaller if they can actually do them monthly.

Quite a few guys are staying on the ER for the variety of flying. I’m bouncing to the 400 as soon as I get a chance.
