I would think upgrades will continue to go junior because of the schedules, that's the root of the issue. There are a massive number of FOs that are only bidding captain at X percentage.
However, I agree that WB new hires are probably not going to happen for a while.

Not "more" junior, but continue to go junior. Regardless of what the company does with the ER fleet, those 767's aren't getting any younger. So if the company has announced plans to slowly take away the widebodies, I don't see any senior guys bidding over to do FL turns.

I admit I LOLed. As an early 2014 hire who’ll be displaced this bid I’ll gladly take the promised 330 A slot. And a side of free beer please.
My first toast on Virginia Ave in a few months will be “WHAT A GREAT TIME TO BE A DELTA PILOT, PREPARE YOURSELVES.”

See there was something called COVID19 that happened in 2020 that delayed everything for a couple of years. Now we have age 67 lurking around the corner. Things happen. There's still a big wave coming. In 2018 who would of predicted 7ERA going under a year? Or 350B going to newhires?

I didn't account for Monthly AEs😂. With no age 67 I'm predicting WB A goes to a 2014 in late 2024 at best. Summer 2025 at worst.

After a good night’s sleep, I think this AE situation could be a great thing. Underwhelming but a good thing. With retirements and the growth we are gonna have next year (NINE 330s and SEVEN 350s) they will have no choice but to post another AE in August. And I bet that one will be smaller too which means they will have to post another one in October. See where I’m going with this?
The numbers are facts. 2024 aircraft delivery’s are going to be insane, especially WBs. I know the company has been saying “smaller and more frequent AEs” in the past and then not doing that but now, with the AE they posted yesterday, sets them up for doing just that. They won’t have a choice but to post another AE in august. The numbers do not allow it otherwise.
Why is this good news? Training will become more consistent and easier to predict moving forward. If you have a vacation planned for end of July/August/early September this year. DO NOT BID. Wait until the August AE which will allow you to go to training end of September/October/November. The 150 day AEs will make every AE look similar to the one yesterday.
This is what we’ve all wanted. I was very bummed yesterday with this AE but now I truly think this is a great thing moving forward. Welcome to the new world of Delta AEs. Smaller and more frequent AEs! Easier to predict, easier for life events, less movement (only negative) but I think there are so many more positives!

Probably getting MD’d (again) this bid and have a significant event coming up which Murphy’s Law says is a perfect time to go to Atlanta. While it’s just one factor out of many, any training peeps have any insights into which jet might train sooner the 220 or the 320? I’m deciding between the two and if one is really backed up it might help me decide.
Also training days off isn’t a thing yet correct?

I've been told the CPO can pull some strings with training for significant life events. Full month on the Ave isn't fun either way.
