Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

I agree with everyone’s distrust they stick with the smaller/monthly AE but I think they got used to the big bids since covid and liked that control. I wonder if the excessive premium pay that has coincided with the big bids since summer of 2019 is the result of them trying to find out why we can’t stabilize our operation. It used to be NYC was crazy understaffed but the rest of the operation would be solid enough. Since 2019 by the last week of the month staffing is critical system wide creating no opportunity to recover.

I agree but for slightly different reasons. For sure WB B will go more senior but I think the domestic NB schedules will continue to keep junior NB A pretty junior. It'll probably be very junior guys on the bottom 15ish percent struggling on reserve while more senior FO's only upgrade as long as they can have some sort of schedule control

Things tend to go more junior when a lot of positions are offered up all at once….monthly bids will delay the jump from 97-98 hires (A330-350) to 00-07 hires. Not by much, it’ll happen by next summer I think, but it could have happened next week, if this bid had 150-200 WB A’s offered.

Um of course it will fall. If we replace 763 with 330/350 the numbers dictate that seniority to hold WBA will go lower. But if we are comparing what seniority it takes to fly international rotations for 10 months a year, that number won’t be changing. But hey, ALPA at least secured those pilots get raises.
Unless we do get the hoped for wide body order and in significant numbers to truly create growth it’s a fake wall you are preaching about. I actually agree with you that we will get an order that produces growth, but am preparing myself to be underwhelmed. Best case we get 20 330-9 and 20 350-1000, I’m guessing we settle on about 25 total, still good and a net growth in Delta international flying but not quite getting to United competition levels.
