This AE uses up training slots through early October. We need another one in Jul/Aug to fill up Oct and Nov. This AE only creates 30 days of new hire slots. The only unbid vacancies for new hires will be from the NYC exodus. I'd bet every other base fills up.

big picture yes, absolutely. But if it’s a choice between the 20 or so 339 deliveries we have planned being growth or replacing 7ERs, the growth would be better. Before this I was under the impression the 330/350s on order were to replace aircraft retired during Covid and growth. Now it looks like some will replace currently flying 7ERs

Yes, they have done both. It's amazing how accurate they can be with smaller, more frequent AEs.

/S/ In his first day on the job, RG figured out how to get inside the staffing OODA loop. He is a management genius /S/

I didn’t really get that impression as ER is told to be flying for at least another 7+ years is what they said on the AE. Some of these comments seem more forward looking

I hope you are right, and it would not be the first time my reading comprehension was not perfect lol.

Could you please paraphrase the rest of it? I skipped right to the openings. Maybe I should go back and read the actual words 🤷‍♂️

Well, maybe I should have read the details:

Based on feedback, many pilots have indicated a desire for more frequent, and smaller AEs. In response, we are posting a smaller June AE to evaluate our ability to manage and successfully execute a monthly AE process. We will communicate the results, and any strategy adjustments moving forward.”

With the scheduled deliveries, hiring is required 67 or not. We’re hiring 200/month with 400-500 scheduled retirements a year.

Yeah… very doubtful my guy. The airline is growing and how many 65+ actually going to be on the line flying and not milking out disability or just flat out retire
