10/10. Hilarious. I guess I was being a sourpuss. I still laugh.

The FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 was introduced in the House on 5 Jan 2018 and wasn't signed into law until 5 Oct 2018.

For 2023, the House and Senate bills were introduced on 21 and 23 March respectively.

I’m not for age 67, but 95% of pilots won’t be flying past 65 and I’ll be done with my next seat lock before this done with the legislative process.

Say you medical out at 62. You’re paid now under this new law until 67, right? Next up is fly til you die.

This industry is comical. Every little thing turns into a doom and gloom session. I for one will not be flying when I am 65 or 67. Those who love this stuff so much that they’d die at work, more power to them.

How many vacancies on the upcoming AE are based on retirements in October and beyond?

I share your sentiment. I would prefer better seniority in my last few years and 67 impacts that. Ironically, reduced QOL due to stagnation may be a contributing factor in early retirement.

Away from work and my top men today, but possibly this was the delay they relayed to me last week. Lots of things in flux right now.

Sorry Flex, but it will occur at some point this month.

Is closing SEA7ER really this difficult? The base has like 45 people aside and not much flying originating from SEA anyways

I don’t know.

IMHO age 67 doesn’t have anything to do with this AE.

Based on the speed of government, this AE will close and conversions will be completed before AGE 67 gets signed into law, so no reason for this AE to be held up for a potential age 67 that may or may not happened 6-9 months from now.
