Not to hijack the thread, but how much do any of you really think 67 will matter. Other than a handful of pilots that can beat the odds on the class 1, do you think it affects an entire AE. Maybe I’m dumb or naive but I don’t buy it one bit. 67 will only help our most senior pilots collect disability checks for an extra 2 years. I know the angst from pilots that lived through the 65 ruling. I just don’t think it’s going to have the same results. Hope I’m right.

Ridiculous. If that were to be true, then there won't be an AE until October, because the 67 issue isn't going to be decided until the FAA reauthorization passes.

I bet Gumm is trying to micromanage BS and impress his boss in his new position by introducing amazing new efficiencies to staffing.

I didn’t realize we won’t know until October. I thought Senate voted today. I guess I need to go back and take another civics class.

I actually don’t think age 67 will matter all that much but historically when BS puts out an AE, they know exactly to the single digit how many pilots they want in every category. Since age 65 vs 67 will affect that I just figure they have one ready to go with the 67 numbers and one ready to go with the 65 numbers.

It's still in committee. The votes taking place are to add the Age 67 amendments. Then it goes through the full legislative process.

It’s stalled over training and DCA flights.

exactly. I believe hiring will stop or slow way down, while network cranks up the schedule even more. Meanwhile, the optimizer will be put into overdrive.

Age 67 wouldn’t even be into law before this AE reached its final conversion timeline. Let alone the uncertainty of ICAO approving it. It’s not even in the final stages in Washington which works at a damn snail pace. It’s not even in legislation to vote yet! Y’all need to relax with this conspiracy

What about the 631 times between those two occurrences?
