just trying to craft a CBA where pilots have at least some control over their lives. Isn’t that one of the reasons we have a union and a contract…to help us have some say over what the company can and can’t do to us?

50 crews left. Time to pull that bandaid and open 350SLC and offer some 330SEA. Those that are senior can go WB, junior will take the short bus NEO that pays the same and still takes them to Hawaii. Everyone can move forward and LA can cover ER Pacific if it doubtfully reopens in the next 5 years.

Well of course it is. But, sometimes there are limitations as to what's achievable and even if you expend negotiation capital and get some of your want, in the end, the mantra invariably becomes...."Well crap, I didn't think they could do that". Do you honestly think Delta will cede control of running the company through AE's to give the pilots their utopian dream? Seems like the gains made in the last contract is certainly a step in the right direction. I mean FFS the ink is barely dry on the contract and many of the QOL gains have yet to be implemented. But yet you have guys that are barely off probation ready to mutiny over the AE process.....maybe a dose or the real world is appropriate to point out instead of living the dystopian dream.

seems to be the chant from all the new hires I’m flying with. I just smile and nod.

I know there's AE specific changes to this contract. Have we tried making other changes in the past that were unsuccessful?

A pilot who has been here two years and finally free of the new hire training freeze is at 72.5% on the seniority list. They have lots of options. I can see why they are excited about an upcoming AE. It's not just NBA upgrades they are excited about, some of them are looking forward to WBB as well. At 77%, they actually have a chance at the move. I'm happy that we have new hires anticipating upgrades as opposed having the bottom of the seniority list at year 12 pay like we did from 2010 til 2014.
