And yes, this two week delay as you are claiming does suck. It means another month before conversions would even start. Another month being stuck where you never wanted to be stuck at for some! And it shows that they could keep delaying it for all we know. There is no end in sight as of now.

Their plan is smaller more frequent AE’s. According to management, they said the next one should be in October/November. That seems pretty frequent

To me, frequent means one per month because that’s how the old company I worked for did it. I’d even settle for once every other month so 6 per year. Anything less than that is the traditional company way and to me infrequent.

Pilots: We want smaller more frequent AEs.

Also Pilots: We want every vacancy for the next year posted tomorrow .

If we had small frequent AEs we would have narrower seniority spreads within categories. Unbid WBB would disappear if they were doled out a few each month instead of 100 at a time.

They are wrestling over the SEA ER displacements as well as trying to push conversions and training out of the summer. Summer all along was all hands on deck, so little to no training was planned.

Many up there argue we are properly staffed too. I have my own thoughts about that..

fine by me.

IMO The only reason pilots are clamoring for big bids is because we have gone 6 months without any and longer than that without any major WB growth.

agreed. AA was able to get a requirement in their AIP for a minimum of 4 bids a year. I would love to see a similar but improved requirement here. Maybe in the last 12 bid months a minimum of 4-6 AEs with a 150 day conversion window.

I believe UA also has a max 90 day conversion window if you are already qualified on your equipment. That would be nice as well.

IMO vacancy bidding should not be nearly as unpredictable as DL makes it. But I’m also willing to bet that is by design to discourage people bidding for small changes.

Pretty much exactly how I envisioned it too. Sits down at Ed’s desk and then looks around like what now? Go get em tropical. Aka the DPG Shaman! OC1 insurrection looming. Pure mutiny. Don’t get up from the desk until an AE is publish and you deem it appropriate and not a slap in the face. Lunatic. I’m thankful I have a hot wife, kids, and hobbies so that I don’t have the thoughts this guy has.

If we had that, they’d just take a once a year bid and chop it into fourths closing 1 week apart from each other.

Are you suggesting that you don't think it's possible to craft a PWA where the pilots run the airline?

50 crews left. Time to pull that bandaid and open 350SLC and offer some 330SEA. Those that are senior can go WB, junior will take the short bus NEO that pays the same and still takes them to Hawaii. Everyone can move forward and LA can cover ER Pacific if it doubtfully reopens in the next 5 years.
