Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

Has there been any rumors as to length of conversion?
I have primary vacation I’m afraid of losing. I bid for two weeks and I added 5 days to it. Big family trip. As it’s my primary I assume they can’t take it. I’m just not sure about the extra days I bought.

Rumor I heard is 210, which would seem to go along with the rumor of SEA ER reductions. First conversions August 1.

They can go to 210 only if a) AE contains at least 10% displacements and b) they actually award said displacements (not just post them like old PWA). They also have the option of doing a 330 day window (old 365) once per calendar year but that too must contain displacements although not sure if they must actually be awarded. PWA 22.F.16 is the source.

I suppose secondary displacements could open up more spots, but that seems...silly.

§7.C.9. You bid to keep the vacation, awarded by seniority, so it'll depend on (a) your position in category and (b) how many senior to you are also trying to keep vacation and (c) how many junior to you are converting and can be moved to your slot. That's all assuming your training gets placed in conflict with your vacation in the first place.

If that's true, then this will be quite a small bid. There are only 103 (I think) SEA7ERs left after all current conversions, meaning of they do a 210, the new 10% rule says they can only award 1030 total awards, including the displacements. And that's if every one of them is displaced. For every pilot that bids out, it would reduce allowable total bids by 10.
I suppose secondary displacements could open up more spots, but that seems...silly.

But that was more than 10 minutes ago, so it's probably changed 10 times. Maybe we'll find out for sure next week. Or not.

Best I could do was look at old AE announcements on Deltnet...the one with latest bidding window was July 2021 AE which was open 11 to 21 July. The wording in the memo said "with the final conversions occurring in the February 2022 bid period" which would make the first month of conversions the August bid period which started only 10 days later.
With this one being open 16-26th, the July bid period would start only 6 days later....figure they will take a at least a day or so to crunch the results, 02 July could only be 2-3 days away to start conversions....I just don't see that happening, but again, I can't support that with any PWA reference.
