For sure. Looking at the previous AEs it looks like each category is almost grouped. Let’s say you get ATL330B, odds are everyone within that specific category will train within a few weeks of each other. The whole “convert after jr” will buy you a couple weeks but sometimes that’s all you need.
If you did have a “family life event” like a wedding that you are the best man in, is training helpful at all in working with you or are you pretty much on your own? I know there is no guarantee

No past AE or training conversions are indicative of future ones but that was my experience. Now I am ready to roll the dice one more time as soon as they post this thing. I think that training planners are pretty cool about helping out, as long as it’s within the scope of reasonableness.

I did convert after junior when I upgraded. Bought me two months. Life was good. Took a huge gamble because I had a couple must attend events. I made all of them. Had I not done that convert after junior I would’ve missed them. 100%.

I called training with a request to move my training by 1 week as we had a family vacation planned. No help whatsoever. They said they looked but it was impossible. Took the hit on deposit etc. Delta family!

Did you try calling the CPO?
When training scheduled my A350 full course they had my final check ride scheduled for two days after my daughter’s wedding. I had been calling and emailing the training planners for 4 months prior, telling them exactly when the wedding was and I volunteered to start training later, or earlier, to completely avoid the wedding date. No dice.
So I called the ATL CPO and they were able to get me 5 days off around the wedding.

A few years ago I had a bid and wasn't trained within the window, which became a conflict. Training planning made accommodations. On another bid they put me in the wrong training class which required rescheduling. The proposed rescheduled date was a conflict and they adjusted. It cost me one month of pay protection, which was fine.
It depends on fleet or more likely the training planner on the fleet when it comes to accommodations without CPO intervention.

If this baby does come out next week, when do they post the memo with the AE openings? Is it the day of the opening or a few days in advanced? Thanks!

Delta family? That’s on you man. You shouldn’t have bid on AE if you knew you had something going on during your window or at least you should have expected there would be a chance you’d miss your family vacation.
