Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs
#2414
They need new hire positions. It will happen. Now the size is yet to be determined. I wouldn’t be shocked if OCT is the new movement AE and JUN is just a position creation AE. Gives them a few more months to decide on the summer 2024 path.

If I were running the show that’s how I would do it. June is an awkward time for a big AE. October makes way more sense for the 2024 plan

The SLC base meeting they did confirm there are talks about SLC350. They said now they’re discussing if
1) the 330 can do it in the summer
2) if the 350 is too big of an airplane to do those markets
3) the total network of the Europe on 330 or 350
pretty much said they want to evaluate how this summer goes on the 330
also said this AE won’t be a massively big AE. Want to get training spooled up while they plan for summer 2024.

Serious question for a minute (usually I like to just mess around and have some fun posting) but when it comes to iCrew bidding, if you click “convert after junior” and put a “Y” does that mean you will train after the junior folks who get award that category? Is there any negatives for doing that or is it not a good idea?
From just random cockpit discussions the reasons I’ve heard for doing it are:
- delay going to training due to summer, important event, etc
- delay going to training to maximize time on the GS gravy train when in an understaffed category
- delay training to maximize seniority once converting
- delay so to bid vacation in the old category
Im sure there other other reasons as well.

You will give up the pay protection option if someone junior to you coverts prior to you. I’ve gotten multiple months of pay protection on my last two awards due to conversions out of seniority order.

It took them three months for me for them to fix it. Called a few times and finally the CP office had enough begging HR to fix it and flexed some muscle. I got the money added onto one of the biweekly paychecks. It was annoying but I do feel like base leadership did all they could. I’d advise to pop in and ask them about it if you want to feel reassured.
