Last summer during a pretty good heat wave for a few days we were making fuel stops before heading to Europe. Wasn’t the whole summer. We are payload optimized often, however. I can’t recall if that was on the -300/-200 and/or the -302/-900. I never did the fuel stop, flew the week after.
I think this is being blown out of proportion kind of like is ER folks about 320 neo doing fuel stops for a week going to Hawaii. I guess we will see this summer though.

That was my point where in order for SLC350 to make sense they would need to put it on some europe routes and in order for that to make sense they would need to have crews do a “DTW-CDG-SLC-LHR-DTW” kinda deal on the 350 which I don’t see at all. I don’t see the 350 doing THAT much Europe so SLC wouldn’t make a lot of sense if it’s only doing ICN.
… although I never imagined we would use the 350 on ATL-DUB, LIM so never say never!

The 2+2+2 lie flat seating configuration of the former LATAM aircraft isn't suitable for markets expecting a D1 Suite. The higher density 339 vs 306 seating is good for DUB, LIM, SCL. When the former LATAM birds are converted to D1 suites, I'd expect DUB to move back to the 330.

For those who are new, do NOT bid an airplane for its routes as they can change overnight! Very important to look at the bigger picture

A note from A&J: we’re ready for summer. RUFKM No excuses this time ‘cause we already cut the schedule and hired a lot.
The oops, hot, leap year is coming apology letter is in the can awaiting 9/15 release. Been away for a bit and coming back has been interesting. Not a single flight on time and reroutapalooza.
This is gonna hurt… a little. ![Cool](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)

the 330 is growing just as much as the 350 is? What 330 performance issues go on during the summer, outside the rare AD last summer that caused issues?
they also said SLC-ICN was not for many years. Can it even do that route year round? Can it take off full to Europe in 105 degrees with SLC terrain and elevation?
then you have to consider the fact of how many crews flow through AMS/LHR/CDG on 350? Some days and routes would be zero. No scheduling flexibility at all.
right now none of these bullets make sense for 350 in Slc besides maybe ICN. Which again they said wouldn’t happen until after Asiana merger and probably not end of decade timeframe (that NYC would get ICN route first)

I flew the 330-200 a bunch out of SLC to AMS which is not that long of a flight. We were performance limited anytime the temp got into the high eighties. Cargo would start coming off. Once we got into the nineties the people came off. We had flights were the 200 had 60 blocked seats with temps in the high nineties and Brussels as an alternate. Every degree above 95 was critical and we could not make the published departure altitude restrictions. I did not fly the 900 out of there but understand it had issues also as temps approached 100. The AD on the 900 forced a fuel stop.
