Back on topic. SLC350 sounds nice for Asia and SA connections. Maybe even some coast-coast routes with MIA sprinkled in. bring it on!

I'm even willing to give them a pass for leap year since basically only astronomers know for certainty when it will occur and the extremely unusual occurrence of thunder storms in the summer. Its almost as if marketing lost the number to flight Ops 10 years ago.

Delta Air Lines ability to have Pilots in the wrong category at the wrong time is truly unparalleled throughout the industry and it has been going on running on 10 years now. I know, I know, its a complicated system with plenty of moving parts and is about as responsive as turning a battle ship. All self inflicted says I. Just think about some of the recent colossal crew resources blunders: Last May and June - cancelling flights right and left, Various Holiday meltdowns over the years too many to list specifically, the whole A 350 rollout where if you were not getting a GSWC you did not want one, and also the 220 new hire fiasco were brand new Pilots fly there first month or two with nothing but GS's.

In Delta’s never ending quest to blame operational failures on everything but management, a communication after a meltdown said that it was a leap year making the February bid period one day longer and that caused it all to fall apart. It’s similar to when they said a summer disaster was because there were thunderstorms.

Also, run a massive displacement bid well before other airlines and certainly before you offer a VEOP... that will certainly help getting people in the right seats.
Can't remember the exact story, but someone attributed a leap year, being partly responsible for one of our meltdowns a few years back. Someone also mentioned the mid afternoon storms in Atlanta coming early, as being another reason for a strategic level meltdown. Nevermind running rotations so tight that there is absolutely zero room to flex with delays.
