As for the next AE, you're gonna have junior pilots thirsty to upgrade no matter what and senior pilots that don't trust all the soft pay and new contract to fix anything on the domestic side. I've flown with quite a few NB A's that are going to hop on the next WB B they can hold. I think WB B is gonna go senior and NB A is gonna go junior, specially if/WHEN this summer is a sh!tshow
Yea I hear ya. A lot of those NB As who are going to bid WBB will probably have a percentage preference tho. In other words if you wanna be the plug on a WBB I bet just about anyone on property can (especially if you don’t mind NYC).

Yeah i love flown with quite a lot of guys that want to go NB A to WB B ASAP. Seems like quite a few mid seniority captains are happy taking the pay cut for the QOL

What’s an approximate seniority for these NB A to WB B?

Valid point. If I commuted, I'd be back on the WB ASAP.

In between fleet to consider for upgrade is ER (WB type flying, sometimes). My life is pretty good 93% NYC ER A. Live 1:20 from JFK, sit short call from grocery store, playground, kids music class etc. bid 4 day blocks in a row (don’t like being away from home more than 3 nights.) we’re decently staffed in category for now so I end up away from home like 10-12 days, 7-9 nights per month. Even the bad flying is way better than the good 320 flying. As a junior guy getting assigned the scraps I do about half transcons and half broken up atlanta southeast shuttle trips.

Not commuting is absolutely everything and can’t be overstated.

There were some individual months I make bank as a ER FO, but never enough to have a good 6 month in 36 month lookback.

On that tangent, does anyone know off the top of your head if vacation buyback for training "counts" for the high 6 on disability?

I got vacation bought out as I was in 320 IQ during my scheduled vacation, so 2 weeks paid out at 320A pay, plus I did quasi-rollling thunder in April, and May-August were 80 RES guarantee.

103 average month if vacation buyback counted, 94 if it doesn't.
im not sure, I assume any pay you have earned would count. but isn’t it high 12/last 36?

To be more precise, its highest consecutive 12 of last 36. And yes, vacation buyout counts.

Nah, thread drift is a time honored forum tradition.

Nobody died and left A5S in charge.
