Yeah, taking our flying back from the regionals hasn't quite been as awesome as i thought it would be. Meanwhile i got a few buddies at OO sitting at home on reserve never getting called in because there's no flying and barely any OT to pick up

I like that kind of flying as long as its not force multiplied by too many plane changes and short rests.

Mainline did it for eons with Shuttle flying and that was as easy going as it gets. Same gates, same frequencies, no panic pressure to leave early, very few pax or bag issues, good layovers, and you almost always kept the plane.

I'll take that kind of flying with the "burgs and villes" layovers all day long. But the constant panicked plane changes and 3-5 hour "sits" and 30 followed by 10 hour rests is what makes it tough.

That's not the nature of that kind of flying; its just how marketing chooses to build it.

Can't wait till they get hired at Delta and then complain about how you sold them down the river and stagnated their career earnings with no OT by taking back that RJ flying.

Back to the thread name. Who said that we're taking all the 717s out of the desert by the end of the year? BS on Skyhub? Or someone making this stuff up?

The planes are scheduled for 55 minute turns in ATL. If your scheduled for a 55 minute turn there’s a good chance you’re keeping the plane. Any longer and it’s a swap. 80% of swaps are from one C gate to another C gate.

No matter what happens, no matter how far they make me walk to a new plane…..I am never in a rush. They can kiss my sweet ass. Rushing is what gets us in trouble.

I tell the FO to go do whatever they need to feel ready, and we will leave when we leave.

Don’t rush

Junior on the 73n/320 is the worst there is, and the fatigue reports reflect that. Doing 4 legs a day on the 717 is a relief compared to every trip having a mid rotation redeye, multiple timezone swaps to min-rest, etc...
