Not my problem.
There usta be, must have gotten rid of it. They junior manned "A" on the "Howling Wolf" CV-880 in the end. Guys really didn't want to go there. I got sent to 880 F/E school while remaining qualed on the DC 6/7, CV 440. Thank the baby jeebus for better contracts.

I wouldn’t mind CV-880 A for a bit of fun. Probably still a better overhead than the 737.

People aren’t avoiding upgrade because of lack of pay. They’re avoiding upgrade because the QoL in this career has been destroyed by the drive for efficiency and productivity, and the closest you can get to a respectable QoL is to be a very senior FO.

Bad QoL is the problem, better QoL is the answer. The obvious solution is to close the gap in QoL between a senior first officer and a Captain of the same longevity.

Amen! I’m not upgrading cause the trips suck. I’ve been ignoring GS calls because the trips suck so bad I decline them even at double pay

Posting a displacement bid that eliminates significant numbers of FO positions coupled with CA openings would do the trick, no? FOs receive MD to CA positions....

No seat lock on an MD. Wouldn’t fix it long enough to train everyone probably.

Well, it had a proper engineer, so definitely.

why was the 880 so junior? I would think it was one of the higher paid aircraft on property when it was new.

how did that work? You could stayed qualified as an engineer on multiple different aircraft at the same time?

But then they couldn't hire anyone until the next AE, where every MD'd pilot would just bid right back to wherever they want to be. Huge training cost for no gain.
