I personally prefer the longer trips. Had a 9 day trip in December that I backed up with a 3day so 12 days on. Had 2 1/2 weeks off before and 3 weeks off after. The 6 day 330 trips look really nice to me. One man’s trash …

The longer trips have one benefit. Go to work once or twice. The amount of negative far out weigh that. If you’re good with zero schedule flexibility, no ability to drop or swap, calling in sick for 35+ hours vs 16 etc I could see why you like them but no thanks. From a scheduling stand point they have to be a mess as well. 1 6 day in open time becomes 2 4 day guys being used on reserve. Doesn’t make a lot of sense.

The worst were the 7ER blended 5 days. Domestic day both front and back of an international 3 day. Yuck.

I guess I’m not sure what you mean by no scheduling flexibility. I find going to work and longer periods of time off give me more flexibility. Unless I have a month I need all this random time off or a specific day always, I can see what you mean.

I imagine he means a reduced ability to drop/swap. To drop a six day means all six days have to be blue etc. Plus not a lot of people have the space to take the trip off you even if they’re willing.

Fixed it for you. These are quite prevalent in this month's bid packages. Your use of the past tense hinted that they were things of the past. Sadly they aren't.

See my post directly above this one. They've already conceived of the idea and are running wild with it. Check out the March 7ER bid packages.
