The ERs we had w a lower bunk were amazing, I never knew that it would make that much of a difference.

Bunk is a huge deal.

It will be interesting to watch how these categories fill going forward. I think older Boeing guys will want to stay in Boeing though for several reasons. I was a 15,000 hour Boeing heavy guy before I came to the Panda, and for international flying I would NEVER go back to Boeing. Yours is but one reason. Boeing's insistence on keeping an idiotic yoke in a fbw airplane that gets used for (conservatively) less than 2% of the flight is mind boggling. That's but one reason why I don't get all the puppy love for the 787. Boeing stopped trying when they moved from Renton.

Don’t disagree with anything you said here. If I was a blank slate, I’d go and learn Airbus/330 as that is the way going forward. Boeing WB just guarantees more time on VA Ave down the line.

Truth! The curtain chair was the reason I decided to leave. I wasn't sleeping and my layovers were eventually 24 hours in the room with the curtains drawn to try to rest when my body felt like it. I did one 4 man to Asia in the lower bunk and it was fantastic. I did a few 3 man in it also and slept, which made those trips enjoyable.

Why Boeing is not rolling out new passenger 767s is beyond my understanding. I mean all you need are fuselage cutouts for windows and seats no?

Boeing has lost a lot of our confidence

If the ER wasn’t going away and was banded up, I’d stay on it for a long time. There’s almost no reason to stay on it when you can do a quick 3 day course in VA ave and make 40K more on the 400. People say “but variety of flying!” For the pay bump, I’ll go to London every week. In reality you’ll do more than just London. But still not the same variety as the ER. I’m not going to the 330 because the seniority hit would be too big. I don’t mind the curtain. I sleep fine during any break and any time.

How long is the 400 supposed to stay? Have they said anything? I know about the ER, but the 400?

They should take out every other window. Saves weight and they are always closed anyway.

Not sure. I don’t even think they’ve hinted at a date yet. And by the time they do, I’ll probably just go NB A
