you’re not being thrown out. You’re getting gains in this contract, just not the ones you wanted.

Let's dissect this. How does it set the foundation for improvements? By financially penalizing the company? SSs are at the company's pleasure. VAS is at the company's pleasure. Neither of which MUST be offered/implemented. They can go straight from GSs to reroutes and eat the 150%. That might be OK with many of you, but that is not necessarily an incentive to the company to not reroute. DAL is gonna make a **** load of money this year. Probably. That 150% is baked in for a certain percentage of flight hours. They've done the math. Guaranteed.
I'm gonna be interested to see how many SSs are actually generated on any regular basis. I don't think it will be as many as we think. I'm also interested to see how many more short call reserves will be required with the advent of 18 hour long call.

So SS and VAS are the death knell of GS and PB days, until they aren’t?
If what you say is true and the company doesn’t implement SS and VAS, then GS’a-palooza and PB days continue and nothing was lost, but now when they RR someone, they get paid more then they do currently.
Or they do offer the SS and VAS, people still get 200% rotations via SS and less pilots get RR’d because of VAS, so their QOL increases.
What am I missing?

Now we've read it and approved it. Time to see what's really in it.

I'm not saying any of those things are certain. I have no idea how they are going to be implemented any more than you do or the MEC does.. I do think that the 150% is not as big a disincentive to the company as many think it is however. Even if it goes into day 2 at 2X, they are still money ahead vs GS. And yeah I know, GS comes ahead of RR in the ladder, but one thing I wonder is how manning will be adjusted going forward. If the company is willing to pay 150%,200% for a reroute, will they accept that and tighten up the manning in any given category? If they do that, how will GSs be affected? If everybody is flying 18 days/month (for example) will they have enough bodies for GSs? And again, I am wondering if more bodies will be on SC because of the 18 hour LC.
