Most of the hours of services stuff was pay - no credit. Hopefully they pay more, or pay the same but better trip construction. Just don't expect PBS to get you into the LCW in less days.

I don’t see the trips getting better. I just see the company willing to pay (no credit) the extra to keep the operation at redline.

Even if the trips get better, with the new contract, I think there is even more incentive to stay a senior FO.

I am not sure about this. Right now the optimizer seems obsessed with Pilot productivity - but that is to improve the bottom line. If the optimizer starts spitting out more costly solutions I imagine the company would start implementing tweaks to save money. Time will tell, but in any case more pay even without credit will greatly lower the need or desire to pick up additional flying for many Pilots.

It's an improvement vs current book. But cleary credit would be better... PBS builds trips that credit more leading to fewer days worked to reach LCW or ALV or fill up faster on reserve. That leads to higher staffing requirements, more pilotsn etc. We didn't get that; but still an improvement no less.

One thing to take into account is that when people used to say a five year upgrade that was on the basis of us hiring at best 100 a month maybe 400-700 a year. Now we are hiring 2500 a year so that upgrade is more like a 2 year upgrade when things settle
down and senior guys start upgrading.
Remember always bid the 400 it’s the best aircraft in the fleet. I love it here and fir a second thought of snagging a 220 captain slot but then I realized I enjoy Switzerland too much.

And this whole thing just reeks of we have to pass it to know how it works. It would be nice to have some idea from the Union of possible scenarios for how this might play out. No one seems to have any clue what this will all look like come fall. We all wanted QOL gains but it now appears we are content just trying to milk more money out of the company…great.
