Dude, sorry, but I’m in the same position you are and knew what I was getting into when I came here. If you didn’t, then that’s on you. If you did, yet still want to whine and complain about it, apply to
AA. I turned my interview and possible sub 2000 seniority number at AA to come here and retire at number 4100. I knew that. I accepted it, and am thrilled to be here. I planned on retiring as a NB A at 20% in NYC. That’ll do just fine. And after seven months on property, before I’ve completed 7ER B OE, I’ve been awarded ER captain.
You’re correct in that I have no empathy for you. This career is timing and luck. There were 24 year olds in my class. Awesome for them. I’m jealous. But I refuse to let that get in the way of my happiness.
Carry on.

Perhaps I’ll see you in ATL for ER upgrade class later this year.

Tomorrow, there's one to LGA and 3 JFK on us.
And 2 to LGA and 6 JFK counting everyone.

What are the rumors/guesses for the next AE?
Timing? Categories in focus?
A32Ns and B739s coming online with reactivations of 7ER and 717; the pilots need to come from somewhere. But where?
ER seems to be about tapped out on bidders, As are almost new hires and there are enough Bs left over for new hires the rest of the year.
oh yeah those A350s and A339s are coming too…

Do y’all just not wanna go to training? Are you scared to make the next step? Pay is mediocre so that’s not keeping you on it. What is it? I know seniority is everything but you are really okay with working your *** off for the lowest pay scale in the company just so you can maybe swap into a better trip on occasion? I needs to rant. I had my dream scheduled all mapped out and I’m 40%. Just had my hopes and dreams crushed by right seat NB “lifers” and now I want answers lol (kidding but not really)!
Edit: I’m referring to the swap board. First PCS run today got me all messed up

Be the change you want to see in the world. Bid ER captain and put your money where your mouth is.

United and American have the 787. United just ordered a stack of 787s in part to replace 763/4s. We can use the 330. Yeah there isn’t a 1-1 replacement, but everybody is figuring it out.
Swapping ERs for 330s 1-1 would be massive for the pilot group. WB A would plummet.

Hope so! Lots of love still for B6, but happy I made the move. Four of the 12 new hires from my B6 class are here now.
