There is no replacement. The current widebodies being offered are too big. The narrowbodies are too small.

I am shocked at the fear of NYC7ERA that so many people are passing up a 300k+ job that is maiy one airport(JFK) mostly does transcons and a quite a bit of international flying during the Summer. The fear also extends to the 765 and 330B positions. Crazy times.

With our current order book, the rumored 20 350-1000s, and the Global Scope TA, I predict 350, 330 or 765A will fall to 2007 and later DOH within two years guaranteed, with a good chance of happening before year end. I think NYC765A will drop the Widebody A wall this fall by dropping into the mid 5500s

United and American have the 787. United just ordered a stack of 787s in part to replace 763/4s. We can use the 330. Yeah there isn’t a 1-1 replacement, but everybody is figuring it out.
Swapping ERs for 330s 1-1 would be massive for the pilot group. WB A would plummet.

So would the price of a ticket if you start flooding all those markets with that many seats.

If I remember correctly a lot of people discounted your prediction of widebodies going to new hires. We see how that is going. I think you are correct that the wall for widebody A is going to drop soon.

Did you look at the ATL 350B list?!?!? I would say that’s not “traditional” whatever that means anymore.

Well, everybody else has figured out life after 767, and there is no NMA coming, so we better make a plan.

Prediction: 332/333 get updated D1 within the next few weeks, seating capacity decreases to 260 range, then you’re only 20-30 seats off 763/4.

Fear? Who is afraid? Personally I have zero interest in commuting to to NYC (or anywhere), even if it is one airport and relatively easy. There is simply so much movement that more senior pilots are finding their QOL/pay/nonsense balance elsewhere.

The solution is easy - take half of the NYC7ER positions and split them up between DTW/MSP. Then you build trips that end up covering the NYC flying. Problem solved!
