Now that widebody Bs are consistently going to new hires I think the next wall to fall will be widebody As dropping in to the 4000s.

Here’s a question - what’s the benefit of being a top 9,000 number on a NB as an FO? I see these pilots who swap and take all of my good trips/swaps and it makes me so mad. Do y’all just not wanna go to training? Are you scared to make the next step? Pay is mediocre so that’s not keeping you on it. What is it? I know seniority is everything but you are really okay with working your *** off for the lowest pay scale in the company just so you can maybe swap into a better trip on occasion? I needs to rant. I had my dream scheduled all mapped out and I’m 40%. Just had my hopes and dreams crushed by right seat NB “lifers” and now I want answers lol (kidding but not really)!
Edit: I’m referring to the swap board. First PCS run today got me all messed up

Lol I I didn't understand it until I lived it (after being a junior WB B), then it all made sense. My time as a top 10% 717B was, by far, the best QOL I've had at DAL. Most months I easily beat my WB B pay and a few months I beat my NB A pay. Get every vacation you want, every day off you want, every trip you bid for, first shot at GS, bought off trips. I initially regretted my left seat bid because most months I worked more and made less, but thankfully I've moved up in seniority fast, so that took the edge off. My next bid may be back to WB B when I can be top ~15%. Being a Captain isn't the be all/end all, I really care more about money made per day gone from home...if that's better as an FO, I'll go in a heartbeat.

I would agree, I think it took a step back with the pay banding though. 764 for skips will drive more senior by a few hundred, as the pay jump may make the seniority hit for some worth it.

BS posted the unbid slots on SkyFace
NYC765B 48
NYC330B 17
Newhires can expect widebody for probably the next 2-3 years.

As I predicted, a giant sucking sound from the top of the ER seats. Lots of 7ERA --> 765A.
And wow did DTW350A go junior (due to pay banding.) Not everyone wants to spend 15 hrs in an airplane to fly to the same 4 places.

Wrong. Look at LAX350B. There are plenty of senior people happy to spend 15 hours in an airplane flying to the same ONE place (SYD)
