It's amusing that out of 14,000 pilots there are 13,999 wrong answers. Everyone has the right answer for their unique situation. I'm grateful only a handful of the group share the same conclusion as me. It would be miserable if everyone had the same answer.

Here’s a question - what’s the benefit of being a top 9,000 number on a NB as an FO? I see these pilots who swap and take all of my good trips/swaps and it makes me so mad. Do y’all just not wanna go to training? Are you scared to make the next step? Pay is mediocre so that’s not keeping you on it. What is it? I know seniority is everything but you are really okay with working your *** off for the lowest pay scale in the company just so you can maybe swap into a better trip on occasion? I needs to rant. I had my dream scheduled all mapped out and I’m 40%. Just had my hopes and dreams crushed by right seat NB “lifers” and now I want answers lol (kidding but not really)!

Edit: I’m referring to the swap board. First PCS run today got me all messed up

Pay is objectively less than optimal, NOT mediocre. 100% feasible to live a comfortable life getting bought of LCA trips our only working what you want, when you want to. Maybe if more captains learned how to budget and/or live within and below their means from senior FO’s, I’d hear a lot less b!ct#!ng about min balance and not having “enough” to retire.

Seriously Clark? As a “senior-ish” 7ERB I average 140 credit per month and work 10-14 days. I don’t bid for “good trips,” I bid to make money. And when I am at work I make the best of it, enjoy my overnights, enjoy flying the plane, etc.

Plenty of other FO’s crush me on credit and would accuse me of not even trying… and they’d be right.

If you are ATL 73B I’ve got 3 trips on the swap board for pickup including 30hr GSO (joymongers great beer) and all inclusive UVF. Even a LCA with PUJ layo. All mid week. None have been touched. PCS run was a big N-O for me. Happens sometimes…. And everything I bid around in Feb is no longer happening so I’d like to flush the whole thing.

Wow.. maybe spend more than a week here, gain some seniority and post again in a few years. You are 40% probably in short time, gain some perspective for your coworkers that spent a decade at worse seniority.
