The medium is the message.

This is a forum board, not a trade magazine.

Perhaps read up on a little Frued, Do a little self analysis. Think “could I be a case study?”

Either that or you ran smack dab into a light pole and you’re just concussed. I’m no rocket surgeon though.

Barring a TA at American or United I don’t think we are anywhere near the end game. Maybe in the Spring.

All sections are open. The non-economic sections are closed. This is the end game, but as always feet are dragging to delay and discourage. The mediator controls the process.

Yup. We have entered the “Henny Penny” stage of negotiations. Now all we will hear about is fuel costs, the economy is crashing, look at Europe, blah, blah, blah. It happens every negotiation.

Fear is their last sword to swing.

If you measure by the number of open items then yes this is the end game. But that only really counts if there is common ground to find a deal. The respective positions of the company and alpa have no overlap. It’s going to take external pressure to close the gap one way or the other, and that’s not happening anytime soon.

The mediator can declare an impasse at anytime if there is no movement and she believes there will likely not be.

Sure, the board can declare an impasse whenever they want. But they aren’t going to do so. We will get parked for a long time.
