Worse comes to worst, I bet Delta could pull the trigger on 50-70 A330-900's for unbeatable prices to replace all the 767's. Nobody else wants them in large numbers. Although heavier, they have almost identical fuel burn, so it would be a pretty good replacement.

A bit different with used aircraft rather than buying new, but yeah MX contracts still come into play. Longer we wait the worse it gets, the 75/76s are MX hogs, and that includes the 400s.

Nah, EB doin just fine.
That’s your yardstick?

Lack of leadership is going to screw this up, we have to have cross divisional task groups to fix leaky coffee cups (and they still leak)

All the top end cares about is pumping up the stock with a little investment as possible. Hundreds of 30 year old jets to be run into the
next decade? That’s not a plan.

They don’t want to run an airline, just sell tickets and amex cards. This should concern us.

This place used to at least run well but now we just make money, yes I get it making money is good but we can’t stay in
constant crisis mode.

yeah I get it’s not the same, but a tad ironic we won’t pay RR for new engines but seek out old ones and the MX that goes along with another sub fleet.

yeah the 763s are 25-35 years old and the -400s are right behind them. The older 330s are too not far behind either. We are going to have to figure out what we want as a WB strategy and go with it soon. The longer we wait, the worse the situation will get.

I would give them credit. Delta has always been very savvy in their aircraft purchases .

they discussed this in one of the base meetings. The pods don’t fit in the ER so they can only retrofit with an updated version of the same layout design and then add premium select

they have done well buying limited WBs in a buyers market. to my knowledge the last time we bought new WBs was 2015*, 8 years ago. We still have not taken delivery of all those aircraft.

* nvm I think we bought more 350s since then.

We will see how they do now

I don’t think this is time to panic about long term health of Delta. That might be a reach here
