But reason 1 above is why we are flying them still. They are bought and paid for.

If Covid hadn’t happened, you’d still see the mad dog on the ramp. Change my mind.
Well considering before Covid hit we were retiring them and had many displacements off the maddog I’d say it’s a pretty sure thing they’d have been long gone by now.

Do you have a reference for that? Wikipedia shows wingspan is 212'9" for the 777X vs 212'7" for the 777.

and 212’5” for the 350. Seems like it would be something other than the wingspan

The 777X wingspan is 235'-5" without the optional wing tips installed. And Delta does not buy optional equipment. So there you go.

To name a few:
We bought HUDS, IAN, & Autoland on the 737.
We bought headrests and an airborne ECS button on the 757.
We bought winglets for the 767.
We bought cappuccino machines and brake to vacate for the a350.
We bought reversed seating, larger FMS memory and originally forward air stairs on the MD-88.
We bought…. crew emergency turbulence seats on the A321.

You forgot NWA deleted taxi lights for the 727 so the 707 towbars would fit.
