Did you catch this nugget:

Riyadh Air, which will begin operations in 2025, is committed to building a premier carrier for customers traveling to and from the Middle East, with its base of operations in Riyadh…”
"The partnership will open new destinations in Saudi Arabia and beyond for Delta customers, including future nonstop service on Delta between the U.S. and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh."

No alcohol, hijabs and 120 degrees, what's not to like! Anyone want the over/under bet on how long before a crew member gets caught bringing alcohol in? I think we managed a week in Kuwait.

There will be plenty of our Muslim pilots who would enjoy the layovers there. The more Widebody jobs the better.

It would be ironic if we got in bed with one of the despised "ME3," that RA and ALPA used to rail about.

I’ll take 9 days.

I read an article recently that the Saudi's will be implementing a Qatar style alcohol system. Basically a very limited, state controlled distribution system for foreigners to drink in restricted places. I'm sure crews will able to get $20 mai tai's if they so please.

They are looking at a lot of options as they try to transition from a oil based economy to a tourist and diversified economic based system. It is however creating a lot of friction between Muslim hardliners and more moderate views. It's not a given yet if money or religion will dominate the Saudi future.
Here is one of the better reviews on what is happening.

Is this even remotely a possibility?
