yeah we all know India is coming and maybe something else but that still doesn’t = base opening. Look at SLC for clue. 3 a day and sometimes up to 5 a day on the 330. We would need substantially more evidence of 350 NYC routes than the 1 or maybe 2 being discussed (and that’s discussion is so preliminary and far out it’s a just a talking point anyways)
Unique city pairs look much different from a trip construction standpoint. Add in FRMS rest requirements and the threshold for a base moves even lower. Two city pairs = four crews. LAX-SYD is a perfect example.

SLC is easily serviced with inside out trip construction. It isn't made up of unique city pairs.

Where are you moving from? You must be mistaken as NJ is constantly ranked among the worst states in the nation for taxes. This chart shows 10% income tax:

https://www.madisontrust.com/informa...20and%20others.
My top marginal rate in NJ is 6.37%
My effective tax rate is 5.25%
(this is based on 385k)
In Virginia top rate is 5.75%
It kicks in at 18k. But VA considers my VA disability imputed income, so I pay 5.75 on every dollar.
If I make over 617k then I pay more in NJ. But not crazy more. That's not even close. I made 466k last year rolling thunder half the year.
When reserve retirement kicks in, NJ doesn't tax that either.

The top marginal rates do not make the tax situation.

Most of our sim aborts tend to be high gross weight which mellows things a bit.

Landing is rarely the problem. It's the takeoff where issues pop up. Having aborted on a 757 I can tell you the stopping power of the brakes is flat amazing. Even with less ability on a single axle truck I suspect it's still stunning. On the 757 abort it was so violent the flight attendants thought we hit something. If you have some spare time in the sim for whatever aircraft you are on ask the instructor to set a light takeoff weight and abort at 100 knots. You will probably be stopped before you can get the engines in reverse.

That said, there are a few airports where I believe only the 75 can get into. Aspen/Pitken County comes to mind, due to a 7800' elevation and a 8000 runway.

Not immediately from what I'm hearing. Main focus is our upcoming summer schedule. I have not heard any whispers about a 350 NYC base or any addtional routes besides the rumored Mubai.
