SLC is easily serviced with inside out trip construction. It isn't made up of unique city pairs.

Unique city pairs look much different from a trip construction standpoint. Add in FRMS rest requirements and the threshold for a base moves even lower. Two city pairs = four crews. LAX-SYD is a perfect example.

Are you really topping wx or going around it in most cases?

very good point. Time will tell what else JFK gets in terms of 350 flying. Still quite a ways down the road here if we are honest.

The 757 is this decade's MD-88, it will be retired... and that will be recinded every other year.

The top marginal rates do not make the tax situation.

My top marginal rate in NJ is 6.37%
My effective tax rate is 5.25%
(this is based on 385k)

In Virginia top rate is 5.75%
It kicks in at 18k. But VA considers my VA disability imputed income, so I pay 5.75 on every dollar.

If I make over 617k then I pay more in NJ. But not crazy more. That's not even close. I made 466k last year rolling thunder half the year.

When reserve retirement kicks in, NJ doesn't tax that either.

I retired in VA, and totally missed that Virginia taxes VA disability. That's total frigging BS. Good thing the statute of limitations is up on that!

Landing is rarely the problem. It's the takeoff where issues pop up. Having aborted on a 757 I can tell you the stopping power of the brakes is flat amazing. Even with less ability on a single axle truck I suspect it's still stunning. On the 757 abort it was so violent the flight attendants thought we hit something. If you have some spare time in the sim for whatever aircraft you are on ask the instructor to set a light takeoff weight and abort at 100 knots. You will probably be stopped before you can get the engines in reverse.
Most of our sim aborts tend to be high gross weight which mellows things a bit.

The 320/321's Max braking abort is pretty impressive too, though as you said a single axle truck won't do as well as the 75's double. The question (and I have no idea the answer) is what is the brake temp comparison afterwards? At least the 321 has brake fans

That said, there are a few airports where I believe only the 75 can get into. Aspen/Pitken County comes to mind, due to a 7800' elevation and a 8000 runway.

Not immediately from what I'm hearing. Main focus is our upcoming summer schedule. I have not heard any whispers about a 350 NYC base or any addtional routes besides the rumored Mubai.
