This company is starting to see the cost benefit of shorter training footprints on the airbus fleets. Especially between the 2 WB's. Very shortened syllabuses if going from one to the other. And the 320 guys already know how to operate. They all fly the same way. We aren't going to get 787's.

That said, I don't think we would get them without an engine MRO deal and that could be enough value to make the system complexity worthwhile. If we can't get an MRO deal I don't think we'd get them even if they made sense otherwise.

We're eventually goinng to end up 220/320/737 on the narrow body side with large fleets of each which is where most training is done. They still see a benefit to mixing it up when they could easily go all 320 for the large narrow bodies, especially considering the BS with Boeing.
Eventually something is going to have to give with that program.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we cxld the order but kept the deposits for...787s? Isn't that the inverse scenario of how the 739s first got here?

The course has improved considerably over the last few years. The airplanes and FMS are similar. The differences in the pilot interface take a few days to figure out. It's not a big deal.
