Yup I think Summer '24 is the last hurrah of international flying at scale on the ER fleet. The rise of the 330/350 continues

Yes I agree, loss of 10 jets will really shake up that category, lots of people camped out in the right seat will be looking for plan B. Curious if the ER will remain junior or if people will shift to the bus? I expect the 767-400 will go very senior quickly, that's the easiest thing to do basically a difference check out.

I had hoped after the letter from Gaetz we'd just use that jet for Texas and Florida charters to MVY, CHI and SFO. It seems to be the favorite fleet type for that kind of thing.

The MAX 10 doesn't have the the range of the 321NEO but has more range than the 737-900. Network has previously stated the MAX 10 will mainly be deployed on longer stage lengths out of ATL, DTW and MSP. I expect West Coast to Hawaii flying and BOS transcons to be 321NEO specialities. I doubt there will be any NEO trans Atlantic flying unless Delta orders the 321XLR. All the other longer non SAQ stage lengths will likely be a mix of MAX 10 and 321NEO depending on how network wants to stage fleets for operational efficiency.
No prob! I'll have to ask about the D1 plans. I do expect that we do see other Max variants at the end of the decade to replace some of the older 73s/ baby bus's. It has been mentioned by network that the max8/9 could be used by us for ETOPS in that scenario. As we have seen, there just truly is not a replacmenet for the venerable 75. It is taking multiple fleets to kind of accomplish the work. The 75s will solider on to shorter stage lengths and operate the SAQs where nothing else can do the job to the same level load wise. The 76s will start to disappear after this summer. 10 are slated to leave the fleet after summer 24 flying (subject to change of course).
I don't know if its still done, but we used to do JFK-LIS (3 person crew). Then LIS-BOS (2 person crew) then BOS-LIS (2 person crew) then LIS-JFK (3 person). It was a 6 day trip from what I recall and they used the 763 on it.
10 is the number I've heard tossed about as well. Could be a few more. Depends on aircraft deliveries though.

On a personal note I love the prospect of Hawaii flying on the NEO as that leaves more opportunity for Carribean and Latin America flying for the 73 fleet. Saw a Delta 321NEO parked at the gate in SDQ on taxi in and damn near cried.

We removed a few 7ER's from the ETOPS program last winter due to high EGT's (low EGT margins.) They had a yellow placard placed in the logbook. They have all since been returned to ETOPS status.
