Just posted this in another thread. Was told that at the SLC Velvet (12/23), network (Esposito) said to expect significant growth into deep SA (LATAM) and into Asia in the near term. Specifically mentioned was Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Manila, more Australia, more Lima, Bogota, São Paulo, Santiago, southern Europe, and, when we get the right equipment, we'll go back into India. Said China expansion is dead since COVID and they're expecting minimal changes there.

Confirmed the new 350s (25) are a done deal. Just waiting on the announcement. All arriving WBs will be the new increased MTOW versions. New max-10s will not be ETOPS'd but all 321NEOs will be.

OBTW, Gumm said 350s coming to SLC.

Yup. And covered parking for those that drive 100k+ cars to work. I'm always surprised at some of the expensive cars parked at Camp Creek. Tons of AMGs and M series luxury vehicles. Hope they are leasing as diminished value goes ham from Hail storms and door dings

Thanks for the info. I assume -1000s? Any talk of when the max 10s are scheduled to be delivered?

they’ve been pushing that narrative at velvet for AT LEAST 2.5 years now … I’ll believe it when I see it.

I'm not sure why they even bother making these grand projections. How often has it happened anywhere close to what is announced? The only thing I can think of in the recent history is BS saying they will go to smaller, more frequent bids. Of course, that was only after a few years of him saying that they'd make much more sense for the operation. Other than that, it’s the LAX220 base, BOS base any day, etc... I'm generally optimistic and try to not be cynical, but it's just hard to believe anything they say until it actually happens.

I think that was the plan all along for those 2 aircraft. It's been discussed the NEOs will be programmed in to Hawaii flying more (that's the plan anyway). So ETOPS is required. Perhaps they'll run to KEF and DUB as well?? The Maxes can fly to all destinations in the Caribbean wihout ETOPS. The -900s are doing that now. It was also my understanding the plan was all along to get our 350s with the increased MTOW. As to the other stuff, I'll believe it when ti happens. Until then, just rumors.

Almsot like seeing the Kennsington street parked Bugatti's and Lambos in London. Blows me away everytime to see them out there for all to squeeze by!

I would assume the "deep SA" growth to be via LATAM metal, not ours but I hope to be wrong. Im skeptical of Vietnam and Manila as well; both markets are known for being low yielding. Plus during a townhall I asked why we didn't plan to rebid the PDX HND slot for JFK and they said the market was "too competitive". Surely Tokyo has high enough yields from NYC than Vietnam or Phillippines would from either LAX or SEA which are the only 2 markets I could see us launching those routes from. The rest of the Asia markets sound legit. But regarding India, what exactly is the right equipment to go back there with? Air India themselves just ordered a bunch of 350s and plan on launching new routes to the US (DEL-SEA/LAX/DFW). All we've got are the incoming 283 ton NPS 359s and -1000s (allegedly). So if not one of those types Im not sure what else there is unless the 777x is in play which is doubtful. Anyway, would be great if we make a go of these routes and make money flying them.

They still have the Delta interior, even the Delta logo on all the seats
