How much newer of a design is the A350 than the 772LR? 15-20 years? Shouldn’t it be more efficient and a better performer (if Airbus wanted it to be)?

It’s a lot more efficient. Close to 30% less fuel burn. Plus lower cabin altitude and noise. And just enough more humidity to make a noticeable difference.

At 450K, we are burning about the same as an -ER (6000#/side) and doing .85.

.85 vs .80 … equals a 6.25% pay cut on the same stage length. 🤷‍♂️ We are hourly workers.

Remarkable. I wonder what the -1000 is. Friend flies the 773 and their burns are whopping starting out (limited to 290 he says).

True, but the 350 isn't replacing the ER. It replaced the 747 which cruised at .85 or better. ICN, PVG and HND get paid more

The 777 was good for about .83 IIRC, so SYD and JNB took a pay cut.

I thought ours didn’t have the humidifiers?

1. 350s aren’t replacing ERs

2. Even if 1 were true, this would more than be offset by the ~17% higher rate paid to the 350

Thankfully 330s are, and they pay the same as the 350! 45 763s hitting the replacement cycle should bring WB A down decently.
