According to the last base visit in SLC they are still planning SLC 330. Need to get authorization for packs off takeoff and extend runway lengths. Sounds like it’s still a few years out. It will be interesting to see what they say on the 9th.

Except that it's not. The major difference in the Jones Act to this discussion is that it requires vessels to be American made, where this is no such restriction for air carriers. I'd be all for lifting said restriction from the Jones Act.

I've said it before, I'd much rather see a legal framework that requires foreign carriers to comply with the standards of the ATP rule as well as Pt 117. That would've been way more effective than the subsidy battle ALPA was trying to fight years ago.

Second hand but per MSP visit this week SLC330 and BOS of any kind are dead… but Taipei, Melbourne, Mumbai or Delhi, and 350-1k’s and 330/350 options are around the corner…

Well I've flown both, other than the thing between your knees, the LR was by far the better performing aircraft for where we used it. 350-1k is going to struggle. But that's not our fight, as JB has stated earlier. That's management. We just fly what they buy and hopefully at the highest rates possible.

I can’t disagree with you there, I think the math comes down to a slight performance hit for much better costs is better than the muscle car that gets 10/mpg. As long as widebodies come, I don’t care.

We really don't know how good we have it here. I remember 2020 when every flag carrier was furloughing. SAS was firing, that's right firing their junior pilots. Social-Democrat workers paradise. At least they honored seniority, unlike the ME3, who simply fired pilots from the seats they wanted. To this day many pilots have not returned.

And here at Delta guys were complaining about a possible 2 hour cut to the TLV.

And also not what they said at the NYC visit, nor in the In Command classes where the question has been asked.
