why would it be on 757 now if we already have 739’s? Doesn’t check out. Almost like - this stuff is fluid and changes constantly. Literally everything is cheaper than flying a 757 on any route, lol.

Are 757s payload optimized?

im an ER pilot. I’ve just flown with more than a couple people who were upset that the 767 paid the same as a NEO.

Never mind the NEO was banded up, not the 767 getting banded down.

The 767 SHOULD pay more than it does. It should be somewhere between the big heavies and the 757/321N. We have separate pay rates for 319,320/ 321C/ 321N….we should have separate rates for 757 and 767. If we did, I would have left the 320 and gone 75/76 a long time ago, but the pay increase wasn’t worth a month of training when I can just wait for 330 and only spend 2 weeks in training the rest of my career.

I guess that’s why pay banding saves the company money. Instead of 2 months on Virginia Ave, I’m only going to spend 2 weeks there.

sure, it should. I think the old -400 rate would have been very appropriate. But given where our pay scales were in May of 2022 when that LOA was announced, the best possible scenario was the NEO getting 757/767 pay. And when it did I noticed a bunch of grumpy ER pilots upset the NEO didn’t pay less.

also the ER has paid pretty much the same relative to other aircraft as far back as C2K. From a practicality standpoint, if it wasn’t worth fixing when it was a much bigger % of our fleet, why would it be worth fixing while there are on their way out the door? ( vs putting that effort into new planes like we did)

Or conversely, the "grumpy" ER pilots could have been upset that they received less of a raise than NEO pilots did. It's all in perspective.

it was a establishing a new rate for a new plane, not sure where you got a bigger % raise from. It was also the best possible solution for DL pilots as a whole.

Both the NEO and the ER got an 18% raise in the CBA
