Well, they’re dumb. It won’t stay under its current form.

For some of these reasons I can’t imagine that the company will go for blank-check PSC in perpetuity. I honestly doubt it’ll stay, but if it does, I think it will be in a vastly different form than it is now. The fact that there are little to no restrictions on it right now is mind boggling to me, the company really must have thought the pandemic would be a 5+ year thing.
Don’t forget that the deal was also tied to the CARES act money, and I don’t think anyone saw the 2 more rounds of stimulus money coming that was eventually handed out, extending PSC further out.

Cant you already move to Macon and have a cheaper place to live and still drive to work? If just cheap place to live is your focus, you can probably throw a trailer on a piece of red dirt a couple hours of ATL easily.

The game changer was the lack of a required backup, and the stress reduction of a guaranteed seat and not having to play any games or stress over jumpseats. I’m in a commuter heavy place that basically requires a bot to electronically book the jumpseat for me the second it becomes available.

Is there any data actually showing how many pilots used their back up flights vs the original flights?

No because there was no requirement to notify the company unless you missed both flights and were calling in honest or missed one and needed to have the company book you PS on the back up

Just gotta live somewhere where the 757 flies the majority of the flights to ATL and the flight time is <60 minutes!
