You don’t want to negotiate for something that vastly improves the QOL of more than half of the pilot group?

Would you be fine using ‘your’ negotiating capital to increase A350 pay rates?

Not to mention easier out of base white slips. As a non commuter, now your bases' good seniority can be mine. My new QOL move will be to drop my entire month and cherry pick the entire system.

What’s been stopping you from doing it this entire time?

Sounds like internet warrior talk to me.

Also stupid because you’d be turning yourself from a non-commuter to a commuter, presumably the thing you wanted to avoid in the first place.

Well put, in base pilots are actually a minority.

I don’t want my negotiating capital spent on making GSs to fall before OOBWS.

Isn’t this how the wedge begins?

I also don’t want negotiating capital spent on health care improvements as I don’t use the Delta medical.

I don’t want my negotiating capital spent on improving LCA and SLI pay, as I’m not one of them.

See how slippery of a slope this can become.

In all reality I hope we can make life better for everyone, commuters, non-commuters, new kids and old hats who lost their retirement in 08. We can’t do that if we divide ourselves.

I’m just going have to tip my Delta issued cap and say that is some of the finest S posting I’ve ever read here.

I never said I wasn't already doing this, at least some times when it benefits me. PSC would make my experiment over the last year and a half valid suggesting the new course of action. If/when it's permanent I won't be the only one as it grows over time when people discover the benefit. Internet warrior I am, this has proven lucrative when used sparingly so increasing it for my personal optimizer only makes sense when it's permanent.

Presumably you posted your original comment to rile people up, but what makes you think anyone actually cares?

If you can do it, why not? Go for it.

Rile sounds like malice, I'd say sharing my experience and the possibility of unintended consequences. I've done this to improve my QOL during our ridiculous overworking recent past. I had no expectation it would be permanent, but...

Interestingly enough it is called collective bargaining isn’t it? You fly under a collective bargaining agreement yes? Does that CBA also include provisions for pilots that are/aren’t on reserve? Do/don’t hold a line? So I guess whatever thinkstraight is doing is what the CBA should revolve around.
