Semantics? Maybe, but what if they press to test one day? At the very least it would be nice to see a written policy on this.

Somewhat true, what actually matters is if they turned away sales not the seat count at departure. Regardless the company will show up with numbers and the EF&A team can audit those numbers if they feel they are incorrect. I just looked at flt 526 for today which is a big commuter flight. 32 PSUP’s with 2 deadheading flight attendants. It would be interesting to see a breakdown on the percentage of flight attendants verses pilots since the flight attendants have no bearing on contract costs.

Rumored that SWA is considering PS commuting. Most of my FO’s commute. The pot of available hires is shrinking. PS commuting is a HUGE incentive in your future employer decision.
Single income families are a thing of the past. Most new hires have a spouse that works. A move means they have to quit a job. Commute flexibility is of paramount importance to many airline jobseekers.
That and beards of course.

In all honesty PSC probably saves/makes me 10k or more over the year. How? Only 2 one day green slips and 2 two day white slips over the course of the year I wouldn’t otherwise take (or some other combination, It doesn’t take much).
Luckily, I live in a “drivable” area but with gas and a truck it’s around $100 round trip x 4 trips a month. It adds up looking at the big picture. And haven’t even started talking about stress relieving and less fatiguing It is to arrive just 1-2 hours prior to show.
As for a benefit to the company, I wouldn’t pick up any 1 or 2 days trips that sit in opentime or off the swap board anymore. The first item when considering a trip now is can I book myself to and from work? If not, then I’m not interested.
yes, this is a commuter standpoint.
