Written policy or just how it’s been done in the past?

If you have a JS reserved and, for whatever reason can't ride (fed, LCA, mel), they must PS you. I can't remember if that's FOM or PWA but it's definitely there.

lol no kidding. The company wants us to sell something for it? No freaking way. We’d be utter fools to do that.

This is why PSC is going away. It’s not worth it for the company, and it’s not worth it for pilots to negotiate for. Expecting to see PSC in an upcoming TA is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

After it goes away the company will see the worth in it (I'm sure they already know it is in their best interest but they want to spin it as something we have to buy). I think we'll see a "to work" only agreement with some limitiations this winter. Or at some point the company will go to the Union asking for an LOA or they will just unilaterally offer it during certain time periods and eventually it will morph into a permanent agreement where you get home to base for work with restrictions on arrival time in relation to show time.

This is however to work only.

The company has been able to see how PS works for a long time now and compare it to 2018 and 2019. I know some keep trying to spin it as a no cost item but the company is blocking thousands of seats they can’t sell and saw zero benefit in reliability with the reality a decrease. I posted on here that pilots still needed to make some effort to get to work despite positive space and was heavily criticized for it. We needed to show the company there was some value in it but instead we showed them the opposite. The one thing mentioned was that they recognize that it reduces pilot stress. I suspect we might keep some form of PS to work only with a requirement to arrive with a buffer. Had we shown how effective it could have been for the operation we could have done better. Once again the actions of a few in making poor commuting decisions impact those who were doing the right thing in the use of PS.

I think it was very effective as an incentive for commuters to pick up green slips, as others have mentioned previously. If NB staffing returns to some semblance of normalcy like 2018 or even 2019, then the utility of PSC for the company diminishes. If the NB manning continues to be the feces show it has been, then I predict the company will unilaterally offer to extend it as is, or with a to-work provision. Regardless, I hope the union won't "buy" it from the company.

If there's anything Delta is extremely stingy about it's their revenue. This is why we have struggled to gain in inch in a seemingly easy section like Deadheading. In light of this I believe the chance of us keeping positive space commuting is very close to zero. Some employees, particularly those that live in NYC are looking forward to the end of positive space commuting because it will likely get rid of many of the "tourist" pilots and FAs

There’s never going to be a problem finding enough pilots to pick up greenslips when they’re at a “normal” level, so the ending of PSC for OOBGS shouldn’t be a problem. (For the company, anyway, and for this particular reason)

The experiment of “everyone can GS as much as they want, as long as they want” is over. The cancellations speak for themselves; even with premium pay, pilots are only willing/able to fly so much.

The whole “I can Roll thunder, GS only and have a month off..and so can you!!” was a happy circumstance, but is no way to run an airline … another experiment tried and failed when done at scale.

Good while it lasted though.
