How about a text message from another crew telling you if you block in after xX:xX time, you will time out and then they will be able to do your outbound. Takes all types.

I saw that same trip. I can't figure out if they volunteered for the extra days or if they don't know the contract.

I did that once. I was supposed to sit for 4:50 then fly a short leg, 24 hour layover, fly a redeye to end a 5 day. I hate long sits and redeyes. My reroute got me out of the sit, redeye, and got me home at the end of night 4. My ACE report got me 4:12 4F1R pay, someone else got paid for the trip coverage violation, and someone flew my original redeye on a GS.

You have no idea how junior or senior I am. I actually like most of the trips I get, and the ones I get I don’t like, it’s usually driven by days off I needed. The rerouted in my favor usually involve getting home early, sometimes a day early. Couple times it’s been a day late, which sucks, but it paid way better than a 1 day GS, so there’s that. Then there’s the change one city pair for another for a turn, which is a wash.

You nudged crew tracking for an illegal reroute and then ACEd it? That is pretty diabolical.

I’m pretty sure asking for a reroute should be illegal, abrogates seniority, and now someone else gets screwed with whatever you ended up getting out of. If people are doing this, the union should put a cease and desist on this. No one should be allowed to ask for a reroute.

Seriously - its similar, perhaps not as bad but same results, as asking for scheduling to give you a GS out of seniority. Essentially asking the schedulers to bypass the contractual coverage sequence. Sometimes, nope many times, we are our own worse enemy.

The collapse of the regionals, and rise of Mainline, is well underway.

That's good news in and of itself. I like the trend. But we need to BOLO for any releif of any kind tied to saving that model. Obviously more large RJ's is the easy to identify threat. But anything WRT seats, number or especially AC weight has to be off the table. They have way, way more than enough already. And they have way more than enough time to transition to current "mainline" planes and/or put the too heavy "RJ's" on the mainline. That said, we've dropped the ball over multiple recent contracts not getting CRJ-900/E175-190/etc rates that even match JB's 190 rates.

Its almost as if the company played us by getting us to "deal them an ace" (bonus points for those who get that reference) by enticing us not to "waste our negotiating capital" on that when it wouldn't have cost them one penny for decades. Now it's a hammer they have in their toolkit. Hopefully they don't use it some day.

New MEC chair nominated! They didn't think he'd do that.
