I've never asked for a reroute but I've prayed to the reroute gods for them on particularly awful rotations.

Lol understood.
I'm actually starting to get decent rotations (not better built, just getting senior), which only means I spend the rotation with a twitch every time I hear the ACARS message chime, fearing a reroute.

This is the stuff that pi$$es me off.
Either REG pilot doesn’t know the PWA (can only be rerouted into one extra FDP), so shame on him for not knowing, or…
He does know but flew it anyway for the money instead of holding Scheds feet to the fire and making them follow the contract.
And the FO asking for reroutes need to be wall to wall counseled.
Agreed we are our own worst enemy.

If our contract had reroutes past one FDP as proffers at 200%, how would that be looked at by the consensus?
What is the difference between reroutes for the contractual one fdp, then accepting a GS the next day?

This would be following the PWA because that GS would have been run through the coverage process and awarded to the correct pilot. Great if that happens to be the same person who was extended yesterday, but likely not the case. What's mentioned above is someone privateering outside the contract for their own benefit, an especially bad look right now.

I've flown with guys who do this every week and usually they get something. The problem is that it takes a gs or ws away from other pilots and they don't get pay protected because no one knows about the illegal reroute. If you choose to fly an illegal reroute at least fill out an ACE to get the correct person pay protected.
