Company could put you into 30hrs of rest on day 2, or day 7, or they forget and don’t our guy into rest until they try to assign you a rotation on day 8 and you tell them you need 30.
Your rest is broken for a split second at midnight, so for 30/168 purposes, you use midnight on day 1 as your starting point.

Thanks. Does the 30 hr break have to be in base or can they give you a lost day somewhere?

If someone has a block of 9 reserve days in a row, how/when does the company schedule the 30-hours of rest? Does it have to be in base?
If there is a block of 7 days, is no “30 hr break” assigned since we are assumed to start around noon and released around noon last day?
Thanks all. I’ve tried looking these questions up myself. Can’t find it.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong….I believe you can work 7 straight days without a 30 hour break because the 168/30 look back is taken from the start of the FDP. So, after working 6 straight days, the look back would start at the beginning of the day 7 FDP, so you would be legal for the 7th day of work assuming you had 30 hours prior to starting the 7 days. So in reality, you could work 7 days in a row without a 30 hour break, but not 8 days. Do I have that correct?

Yes, that’s essentially correct. Assuming you don’t get a 30 hour break on a layover.
Moreover, you can “work” on the 8th day, you can do a DH only day but, you will require a 30 hour break prior to commencing a FDP where you function as a required crew member.
