IMO it shows laziness when a poster instead of using facts or data to make their point, resorts to calling someone Management. If someone truly wanted to be management, they wouldn't be here debating random folks behind screen names.

Default Required Schedule Check

Is a schedule check required of a reserve pilot when completing a PR Day (Partial Payback Day)?

Example: My PR Day ends at 0200. Am I required to check schedule for possible trips starting as early as 1200, or is scheduling required to notify me? Asking for a friend who is not notified and trying to decide whether to get dressed and drive to the airport....

Scheduling can put a trip or SC period on your schedule as early as 10 hours from the start of your LC period as long as it is on there at least 9 hours prior to your LC period starting. People incorrectly call this the "1500" check because most X days start at midnight, but that is not always the case. In your example scheduling can make the pilot report as early as 1200 as long as they placed the trip on the pilot's schedule by 1700 the day prior. They will not contact the pilot as the pilot is responsible to see if they put a trip on his schedule and must report for the trip or face consequences as he is required to be there. If he checked his schedule at 1700 and nothing was on there then he would fall under the normal 12 hour callout and the earliest he could then be required to report would be 1400 if they call him right at 0200.

The ending of your PR is sometimes referred to as your "artificial midnight". Same 9 hour prior logic applies for your "as soon as 10 hours" vs 12 hours. That doesn't mean its a "required check" though.

Cutting more than 10% of total flights into AMS will take just a bit of a bite out of one of our main European destinations and JV partner's hubs.

Hopefully that means we’ll add more direct destinations in Europe.

Does anybody know, when you front end deviate on a DHD and your new DHD flight leaves after the original how does the sign-in time work? Does it automatically push back? TIA.

If someone has a block of 9 reserve days in a row, how/when does the company schedule the 30-hours of rest? Does it have to be in base?

If there is a block of 7 days, is no “30 hr break” assigned since we are assumed to start around noon and released around noon last day?

Thanks all. I’ve tried looking these questions up myself. Can’t find it.

There is no sign in time. When you front end deviate, you are pretty much stating "I will be at the airport of the first active leg, one hour prior to scheduled departure."

Company could put you into 30hrs of rest on day 2, or day 7, or they forget and don’t our guy into rest until they try to assign you a rotation on day 8 and you tell them you need 30.

Your rest is broken for a split second at midnight, so for 30/168 purposes, you use midnight on day 1 as your starting point.
