I believe you used wrong bid line. You used “starting” instead of “check in time.” Start time I believe refers to any day of the trip so it will award any trip with a day that starts before 20:00. Check in time refers to the first day only.

Could have swore I picked "pairing report time" but maybe I did. PBS is locked right now so I can't see.

I was able to review my bid last night. It wouldn't let me edit it, but I could look at pairings and my bid.

You can cancel your listing and relist with a different priority up to 30 minutes prior to departure. (45 minutes at JFK). This applies to domestic flights. International is longer. Under 30 minutes you need a gate agent to switch. If however a listing is added or changed under 30 minutes that non rev is supposed to go to the bottom of the list. In practice that rarely happens.

That is asking for the layover to start before 20:00. You need to use pairing check-in time also on the same line.

Waking up at 3 AM to check in isn’t really a thing either, as check in opens 24 hours prior. How many flights depart at 3 AM? (Edit: I’m guessing you’re referring to AA’s former 4 hour prior check in for non-revs, which has been gone for more than a decade).

Having seen UA’s PS prices and options, I do agree with you there.
You are correct that I was thinking about the 4 hour rule. The 24 hour could still be a problem with late flights. You only retained your place on AA if you were rolled to the next flight on that exact city pair by a agent. If for example I was trying to get to STT and did not get on and decided to connect through SJU you go to the bottom. If I was flying CLT-JFK and did not make it and switched to LGA again you're on the bottom. If the agents did not roll the list you also went to the bottom.
One other thing about the UAL system. Each pass rider you have listed gets their own access password for listing and checking loads. That's a very handy feature verses Delta where you have to handle everything for them.

Yep, the united system is much better. The fact each passrider can use the United app with their own login to list/view loads makes a huge difference. It also shows them way more useful info like potential misconnects, etc.

The only thing I don't like is their jumpseat reservation system. A senior guy can kick you off up to 15 prior. Ours is better there.

This should be a no brainer here. Instead they’re surprised that people hand out their password to family members and choose to “manage” that by threatening discipline.

could one not argue that the pass travel changes are a violation of PWA 24L by removing buddy passes?

I don’t mind the changes personally, but that seems like a “reduction”

24L is for “substantial” reductions. Since hardly anyone uses buddy passes, and there are gains in this policy, is the net reduction in pass privileges “substantial “?

I don’t care either way on these policy changes. Nothing is going to change for me. Buddy passes are garbage. Was hoping for 1 RT PS vacation pass per pass rider.
