Additionally, I’m a bit surprised that Europe is considering allowing a lone pilot up front considering the whole Germanwings event not long ago.
They briefly mandated two people in the cockpit for things like lav breaks afterwards, but reversed it after a whopping two years.

Similar PTIX to last year with higher employee wages and headcount makes this a good estimate. I'll get little more specific and for with 8.7%

Default Offline Deadhead

Can't seem to find much clarity regarding seating on offline deadheads. Lots of season ending service from Europe in October with deadheads back to the states on foreign carriers. Anyone have any experience on how DL gets you home? Do first class rules still apply on the ocean crossing section? Thanks

8F1a Note says first class if Delta One not configured.

I haven’t spent any time looking at numbers, but don’t expect much change in the wage base. The pilot pay raise will be more than offset by the lack of one time payment in the calculations. I wouldn’t be surprised if wages are actually lower overall given how much of the calculation is from the pilots vs other employees.

The 8F1a first class requirement absolutely still applies. The company would be DHing us on OAL routinely if they could get away with economy seating for OAL ocean crossings.

At a former airline I worked for the mistake was made negotiating “highest class available at the time of booking”

company started booking on Zip and Scoot to get crews to Singapore thru Japan to pick up planes after heavy checks that were done over there

Hope ours is stronger language or everyone is going to have some fun riding on Norse or similar ULCC carriers

Only time I’ve ever done an offline DH was on Hawaiian. They gave me some serious side eye, and boarded me last after every other pax had boarded. I told them I was perfectly fine staying in Kona but they finally made it work and got me my middle seat (inter island so no PWA protections) after some “phone calls”.

Onboard crew was great though.

Excellent point. No looking back 2023 pay was higher than normal due to the one time payment. You may very well be right and we get a similar percentage to last year.

As other pointed out, yes, they still have to DH you as the PWA says. I had a DH out of Kuwait years ago after repositioning a plane, the company put us on United thru IAD, in business class. Worked great, only indication that it was United was a D UA 501 (or whatever the flt number was) as the flt number for the DH and a one sentence note at the bottom of the rotation saying, "DH REC LOC ABCDEF" - I was able to use the ABCDEF and look it up on their website.
