Any "Latest & Greatest about Delta?" Part 2

Huh? UA just announced SFO-Brisbane. They also serve SYD from LAX/SFO/IAH , and Melbourne from LAX/SFO. Not to mention UA also does Auckland, NZ & Tahiti to SFO to further round out the S. Pacific. We do LAX-SYD 10x wkly. Look out UA.

That's only because VAus almost collapsed during all the "lockdown" nonsense and became a domestic only 737 operation. That would have been the perfect time to "invest" in them as a robust domestic and regional NB network to "feed" our TP flights. But instead we whistled past the gates because the real perceived value was always and only in foreign pilots/crews doing long haul flights and in the meantime someone else gobbled them up and we were forced to "invest" in a much less robust ULCC domestic network there.
Yes we added 3 weekly flights and that's cool. But VAus was doing far more than we were prior to "lockdown" and our potential over-emphasis on "global scope" will allow our next WB partner there to take those 3 extra flights back and get all the subsequent growth and it'll be "balanced" by whatever other growth the company was planning elsewhere anyway.

We had a perfect excuse to expand but UAL seems to be doing pretty good in our absence. November 16th 2022.

WB international is just too tiring…. Give me a 0330 wake-up for a 3 leg day last day of a 13 leg 4 day out of a TLH ****box with a sticky carpet and a noisy wall unit AC any day.

Good points but even if you are sniping the system will keep trying to put trips on your line until it hits the threshold. So as another poster said, you could end up with a carryout trip that only has say 2 hours in the current bid period but 19 or more in the next or in June's case has 1 day in June and makes you work on July 4th.
I wasn't clear in what I meant by sniping, I'm talking a bid like the one below. In this case, as long as you get in the LCW with these three pairings, PBS will not (can not) continue to try and put trips on your line to get you above the threshold. It will not deny you a line just to get you above the threshold. The bid works best for senior pilots, but I think the poster said he was top 25%, so it's certainly an option.
1. Award pairing #1111 departing on 1Jul
2. Award pairing #2222 departing on 12Jul
3. Award pairing #3333 departing on 20Jul

True story. Most people that do this will do multiple iterations of this, before moving on to another tactic. I've seen some who nearly use all 200 lines of code doing it. As mentioned above, if you want to see some good examples, find a former NWA heavy category. I'm guessing MSP320A is a safe bet.
It certainly will...go try it. Gotta be careful with that instruction.
