The rumor is that ALPA initiated contact with the company regarding the IROP and ways to help the company recover faster. In my opinion the PWA should stand as is, no IROP relief required. In fact there were already mechanisms in the PWA that would have helped the IROP the company *refused* to use. Think VAS or the short call rotations.

Remember March 2020? Giving them a rebid and whatnot and they'd offer SILs in return. Oh nope, Lucy and the football. Surely though if we show how amenable we are they'll come around, so think some of our reps/MEC. They want to be liked by Flight Ops and seen as different than the intransigent guys of the past.

I don’t want it to go to memrat. I don’t support a IROP LOA but I elect representatives for a reason. I do not support letting the memrat cat out of the bag for every little thing that happens.

Can someone explain to me why Labor Day, for a union pilot group no less, isn't eligible for "Holiday Pay"?

(other than, "We didn't negotiate it")

Plenty of prohibitions on dropping trips for LD though.

There's literally no other holiday I'd rank above this one for HP at a union shop for extra pay.

Grumble grumble grumble.

Keep saying it was 'spite' move from management. At least that's what I'm going with.

It’s pathetic that the MEC is once again afraid to communicate to the membership that such talks are being conducted. They should be actively soliciting member input — BEFORE engaging in such discussions. This is the same way they handled the batch size giveaway. Keep everything under wraps until the damage is already done.

They’re more concerned about management’s opinion of them than they are their constituents, the pilot group. As long as management is happy, they’re happy. These clowns couldn’t be replaced any faster.

I believe they have. They asked for pilots to send in DARTs about the IROP.

if they come back with something that is good for the pilot group and it passes memrat (like LOA 20-04) I don’t see an issue. My problem becomes when a rouge MEC decides to give away a piece of our contract for nothing in a move that (by my best guess) would have failed memrat spectacularly.

Lol. “Send in DARTs about the IROP” is entirely different from “We are engaging in talks with management to provide contractual relief related to IROP recovery. Please contact us with your thoughts and suggestions.”

No LOA is too small to go to MEMRAT. They’re infrequent and impactful enough that we should absolutely have a say over each one.
